October is here, which means we officially have three months left in the year. And if you’re anything like me, this time of year can bring a strange combination of excitement and panic.
There is still so much you want to accomplish. There are goals you haven’t checked off yet, ideas you haven’t gotten around to, content you’ve been meaning to create, and probably a few things on your business to do list that have been sitting there for… longer than you’d like to admit.
But here’s the thing: You don’t need to do everything before December 31. Q4 isn’t about cramming an entire year’s worth of work into three months. It’s about getting intentional about what actually matters, creating some momentum, and setting yourself up to walk into the new year feeling prepared instead of overwhelmed.
Soooo with that being said, let’s lock in.
1. Start by Getting Really Clear on Your Priorities

Before you start planning content, launching something new, or adding another goal to your list, take a step back.
Ask yourself: What do I actually want to accomplish before the end of the year?
Maybe it’s booking a few more clients.
Maybe it’s increasing your visibility.
Maybe you want to promote a specific service.
Maybe you want to finally get consistent with your content.
Or maybe your biggest goal is simply to finish the year feeling proud of the business you’ve built.
Whatever it is, choose 1-3 top priorities and let those guide your marketing for the next three months.
2. Look at What Your Business Is Selling

Once you know what you’re working toward, take a look at your offers.
What do you want people to book, buy, inquire about, or learn more about during Q4?
This is important because your content should support your actual business goals.
If you want to book more service clients, your content should help potential couples understand your experience, process, personality, and the value you bring.
If you’re a photographer trying to fill your calendar for next year, now is a great time to start talking about your availability and showing potential clients what working with you looks like.
Also with the holidays coming up, it’s the perfect time to get clear on your holiday offer and start promoting now.
Your content should make it clear how you help, who you help, and why someone should choose you.
3. Give Your Social Media a Little Q4 Reset

Now let’s talk about the fun part: your content.
Take a look at your social media and ask yourself:
What is working?
Look at the posts that have gotten good engagement, saves, shares, conversations, profile visits, or inquiries.
What topics did you talk about?
What format did you use?
Was it educational? Personal? Behind the scenes? A story? A Reel?
You don’t need to reinvent your entire content strategy every month.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is look at what is already resonating and find ways to build on it.
Then ask yourself:
What isn’t working?
Maybe you’ve been posting because you feel like you have to.
Maybe you’re spending too much time creating content that isn’t connected to your goals.
Maybe you’ve been trying to follow every trend and your content has started to feel less like you.
Q4 is a great time to simplify.
Keep what is working. Adjust what isn’t. Let go of what no longer makes sense.
4. Create Content You Can Actually Use

One of my biggest pieces of advice for Q4 is to stop thinking about content one post at a time.
Instead, think about your content as a collection.
One idea can become a Reel. That Reel can become a carousel. The same topic can become a story. It can become an email. It can become a blog post. It can even become a conversation starter with your audience.
This is how you make your content work harder for your business without constantly needing to come up with something completely new.
And if sitting down to create a month’s worth of content sounds overwhelming, that’s exactly why I love batch content creation.
A focused content session can give you a library of photos, videos, Reels, educational content, behind the scenes moments, and personal brand content that you can continue using throughout Q4 and into the new year.
You don’t need to create more content. You need to create more intentionally.
5. Don’t Forget About Google

Your social media isn’t the only place potential clients are finding you.
If you have a local business, your Google Business Profile can be an incredibly important part of your online presence.
Think about how often you search for a business before deciding whether to contact them.
You might look at their reviews.
You might check their photos.
You might look at their services.
You might see where they’re located.
Your potential clients are doing the same thing.
Q4 is a great time to make sure your Google Business Profile is up to date and actually reflects the business you’re running today.
Update your services.
Add recent photos.
Share updates.
Encourage happy clients to leave reviews.
Make sure your business information is accurate.
You don’t want someone discovering your business through Google and then landing on an outdated profile that doesn’t represent you anymore.
Your online presence should tell the same story everywhere someone finds you.
6. Start Thinking About 2027

Here’s something I don’t want you to overlook:
You can start preparing for next year without waiting for January.
You don’t need to have your entire 2027 business plan figured out.
But start paying attention to what you’re learning now.
What services are people asking for?
What content is getting the best response?
What types of clients do you want more of?
What projects energized you this year?
What felt like a drain?
What do you want to do more of?
What do you want to leave behind?
Your answers can give you a much clearer starting point when January rolls around.
Instead of starting the new year from scratch, you’ll already have information, momentum, and a better idea of where you want to go.
7. Review Your Q4 Checklist
If you’re not sure where to start, here’s your simple Q4 reset:
1. Choose 1 to 3 priorities for the rest of the year.
2. Identify the services or products you want to focus on.
3. Review your best performing content from the past few months.
4. Decide which content topics you want to carry into Q4.
5. Create a plan for batching your content.
6. Update your Google Business Profile and online presence.
7. Start collecting reviews and client testimonials.
8. Look at what you want to accomplish in 2027.
9. Give yourself permission to let go of things that aren’t working.
10. Remember that consistency is more important than perfection.
